Mezzanine – Fishing nets, ladders and plywood

I love a space with a great height, the day we buy our own place, I hope that we find a place with a high ceiling so we can use the space horizontally and vertically. This gives a great dynamic to the space.

A mezzanine is also a good solution for small places. If you have a place with few m² but a high ceiling, then definitely go for a mezzanine!

Here are a few examples of how to do it right 🙂

Modern Iran’s Architecture

Iran is a complicated country, The Islamic revolution, departure of the Shah, Ayattolah Khomeini taking his place and now Ayattolah Khamenei being on the “throne” since 1989, the nuclear projects, the sanctions and recently the agreement on the nuclear activities. It is a country that stays in the headline. The people try to move forward but in a country where all of this is going on, it isn’t very simple I think. That’s why I am pleased every time I read something positive about Iran and today I read an article on Architizer about Iran’s modern Architecture with the suiting title “The architectural treasures of Iran”and I want to share it with you guys.

Moodboard – Deep blue and green -Outgrowing the Whiteness

It’s been a while that I am after everything bright and white with a few touches of natural colors. The Scandinavian interiors stole my heart, but something has changed. My home is bright and white and I love it but more and more I am looking at heavier colors that go with that brightness of white.

Is someone out there who is feeling the same way?

Deep dark blues and greens combined with walnut wood and gold is the vision in my head…A little like these

AirBnb Wishlist – Top 10 coolest locations Around the world

Airbnb is a booming way to book a temporary residence for a citytrip or a longer holiday. Me and Mr P. are big fans of this new way of booking. The fun thing about Airbnb is going through different apartments ans looking at the fun ways to make a small place as functional as possible. It is comparable with Pinterest, when you start looking for a place specifically for you destination, lets say Côte d’Azure (our summer destination :p ), you somehow end up looking at apartments at LA (is what happened to me)!! So therefrom followed my wishlist (top 10)  that I would like to share with you guys 🙂

Do you know any fun places to visit? let me know in the comments bellow 🙂

Rambo the Cat

We adopted a cat! I am a huge fan of animals and after adopting 3 goldfishes, a turtle, a dog (he is couch surfing at my parents house for the moment and I miss him A LOT!) a cat seemed a good option for our busy lifestyle.

A pet doesn’t only mean a furrball wondering the rooms, it also means a lot of change in the interior. Specially when you adopt a cat. Dogs might jump on the couch and bed , or hang with their two paws on the side of the table, but a cat has the freedom of going everywhere! He discovered places in our interior we never though being interesting enough for him.

Besides that, a cat needs his own furniture. Especially Rambo( that’s his name 🙂 ) Rambo is a Persian cat, which means that he doesn’t leave the apartment.

This has two reasons,

Adopting a Persian cat costs a lot of money, and if he is wondering alone in the streets of the busy city of Brussels, he might go missing (by that I mean illegally adopted…) .

Persian cats are very relaxed cats, I cannot imagine Rambo getting into a fight with one of the thugs on the streets.

Because of the fact that I really don’t like the common furniture available on the market for cats, I decided to make a tipi for Rambo. There are tons of DIY’s on this all over the internet. But unfortunately he didn’t like his tipi very much and decided to make our couch his scratching post to show it! That is why we were obliged to buy a common scratching post and cover our couch with garbage bags (YES you read it right):/

after looking a lot over the internet and DIY’s on what are the possibilities to AVOID a scratching post, I found out that there aren’t any…

I surfed a lot and found a series of interesting designs called Architecture for Dogs. some of these can be used for a cat and there are a few download links on their website.

Cats and dogs become a part of the family and we should not forget to include them in our homes and lifestyles. Rambo has a scratching post that doesn’t suit our interior (in my opinion), but he loves it!! I will keep looking for new ideas but till then he will be climbing and jumping around this one and I will enjoy watching him  :).

GREAT NEWS IKEA !

Who HATES wires as much as I do? So Ikea is about to launch it’s very first furniture that is able to charge our phones wirelessly. Isn’t that amazing?

According to Dezeen’s latest interview with Marcus Engman, the head of Ikea’s design in Sweden, he said: “We don’t want to go into electronics, we want to make the home smarter,”

This accessories are a collaboration between Ikea and Qi tech company. Google Nexus, HTC, Samsung and Nokia devices are already compatible with their induction charging system.

even though I hope that they expand the compatibility of this system soon enough, I already am a fan. A smarter use of the everyday furniture is the next big thing. This collection will be available at UK Ikea store from mid-April of this year.

We all believe Marcus Engman now about what he said last month : “I want to bring surprise back to Ikea.”

My Succulent propagating project Diaries

Hello 🙂 ,

So I fell in love with succulent plant… Specially with the baby succulents after reading this great post on how to propagate succulents o Needles + leaves.

The picture of those baby succulents (also the featured picture of this post for the moment) just made me go “ooowww I want those too !”(literally)

Photo : Needles and leaves

Photo : Needles + leaves

So I decides to plant my own baby succulents. This is my very first experience with succulent plants.

I already killed 2 of my Cacti’s 😦 which broke my heart … and tried to root a bean … that dried out at the end. I am beginning this project with a little heart but I really hope it works!!!

I read a lot of blogs and post about propagating succulents and I feel like I get it now but seen my past with those Cacti plants and a murdered bean, I can never be sure

That is why I want to share a diary about this with you guys. I know that there are a lot of specialists out there and if I am doing something wrong or you have some tips about this, please share it with me.

Day 1

I went to Ikea and Brico and bought a 3 succulent plants, the BITTERGURKA planter to plant my 3 succulents in it , this cute little plant house SOCKER and ofcourse some cacti/succulent soil.

ikea

photo

The succulents lost some leaves during the transport which was good since I wanted to propagate some succulents. 🙂

I let the dry for 3 days on the kitchen’s windowsill.

DSCN4833Day 3

I couldn’t tell if the leaves were dry enough seen the fact this is my first time doing this, so I trusted the many tutorials and planted the leaves in the cacti/succulent soil and hazed it with some water.

To do that I use the Vichy water spray I got as a sample a few months back. I am too scared to over water the succulents. I read that the leaves need more water then the adult succulent plants but I couldn’t find the amount of water they need anywhere. So I decides to be prudent and use this to haze the soil once a day . Now I am hoping to not under water the leaves :-/

Day 3 – Succulent propagating project

10084074

Day 5

So from now on , checking on these leaves is the first thing I do in the morning. But no change to be considered YET ! I am trying to be patient , which is very difficult for me. I am like a 5 year old kid waiting to open his Christmas present in this kind of situations.

DSCN4835

Day 6

Nothing is happening …

Day 10

Still no change … I am getting nervous about this

So please let me know what you think and what your experiences are in the comments bellow. I can use all the help :)!

I Stopped writing about this because they were all dead and nothing happened at the end. I will try again soon and succeed !!! If you guys have any tips, please let me know.

Hanging planters & DIY

Hello bloggers and non bloggers :).

Today is the new release date of this month’s Urban Jungle Bloggers posts. This amazing blog made by the two talented Igor and Judith interior and lifestyle bloggers, has all kind of inspirational posts about how to bring more green into our homes. Besides that, the monthly topic posts bring a community of bloggers together, ready to share their great idea’s.

So this month’s subject was “hanging plants”. After getting some inspiration from Pinterest and looking at all kind of cute hanging plants, I started (to plant my plants first) make the DIY macrames.

As you will see in the images bellow, I have an Ikea hanging planter, and two DIY hangers. The longest macrame is inspired by Pinterest but I must say, this was my 3th attempt to make it. So I decided to find an easier manner to make the second one . I will post the tutorial of the shorter one (the easy hanger) bellow.

All you need to make them are some cord and old jam jars or planters.

Let me know what you think in the comments bellow.

Thx for visiting

Tray Table by Hans J. wegner – CH 417 – 2015 edition

Have you seen the new tray table?  It is absolutely gorgeous. The multicolored finishing gives the table a new dimension. Besides the original 1970 Natural veneer, black and white finishing, now we also can enjoy the perfect combination of light and dark oak veneer. This table is an absolute functional furniture piece. It can be carried around by the finesse handle , the pieces are separable which makes it easier to replace or store the table away when one needs more space.

Terrible Twins – Terribly good !

Hello sweeties,

It is been a while, I am sorry for that. I have been a little bit sick and because of that a little bit out. But now I am back and I have a few exciting posts and projects coming up.

For today  I have prepared a post about one of my favorite products. I have talked about this brand before in my previous post , you can read it here.

If you follow this blog, you should know by now that I am obsessed with typography. And the product that I want to talk about today, made typography the main actor in it’s minimal branding.

Terrible Twins. Created by two sisters with a love for craftsmanship.

These handmade Spa products are just amazing. The natural oils, soaps and their aroma’s , give me a summer feeling in the middle of February!

In my opinion ,the soaps and oils that I see in the big markets are usually not very attractive in their packaging. I personally, often purchase one because I am used to it or because I love the smell of it.

But the Terrible twins brown cardboard packaging in combination with the minimal Number branding and amber glasses… I love to have them on display in my bathroom and that is not a lie!

DSCN4762

DSCN4758

DSCN4755

DSCN4759The artisanal little soap box is great to use as my cotton wool storage. It is absolutely more glamorous then the plastic bag they come in usually :)!

What I also love , are the letter candles! Just lovely to give them as a little present to anybody! and they can be used as a cute planter once they are empty. Double use , recycle …  just what I love . I combined them with my DIY concrete houses. If you would like me to post a tutrotial about them, let me know in the comment section :)!DSCN4765

This is not all, Terrible twins has a little something to offer for everyone. This brand is definitely something that I would recommend as a present for her and him. An amazing spa treatment under the candle light. You cannot do any wrong with that ;)!

The cherry on the top of this cake, are the cute little handmade lavender hearts to keep the room fresh! From now on, every time I open my jewelry drawer, I don’t only see sparkles, I also smell them! Lovely!

I thank Terrible Twins Sweden for this amazing package!

Don’t forget to visit their website and learn more about the meaning of different numbers and collections.

So I decided to now and then, share one them Twistedvi13.

Today , I will share my first art direction work. It is a collaboration with Mattia Pellegrini.

The portal – Bazar Noir – Berlin

Hello sweeties,

If this is the first post your are reading from me, thanks for stepping by , and if not thank you for sticking with me :).

Before, I talked about a few of Brussels concept stores. This Saturday I am finally visiting Delbôve Cosmetics together with my good friend and great Make Up artist Cosnic. I will tell you all about it this weekend, I am pretty excited about it I must say :).

But for now I want to share an other Concept store with you guys. It is not because I have visited it but I just read an article about it and I am impressed with its Interior Concept. Bazar Noir. The name of it alone, makes me fantasies about the interior of this store.

The design studio Hidden Fortress is responsible for the concept. The main goal was to create a unique interior and they realized that by creating a great contrast between the store area and the mezzanine. When we think of a contrast, the first think that might come to mind is a black and white image. The contrast here is made by using a monoton dark tone in the store , and unpainted maritime pine in the floating staircase and a mezzanine.

The strong visual of this concept is made by these 3 elements.

1. Daring to use the same tone of dark grey, almost black, in the whole store. A lot of people are frightened to use black as the main color in their interior. It might seem to be unpleasant or even suffocating. But as we see here, the use of the natural pine, in this light almost golden color, breaks the heaviness of the dark tone in a way that the space is completely well balanced.

2.The use of different materials in the same tone and color. This is a challenge to make this possible in this grade. Our eyes see a monotonous image but the touch and feel of the space varies because of the different textures.

3. And of course, the floating staircase!!!!!! This bright floating box in the middle of the dark space made me think of a staircase into a different dimension. I would be curious to go and see what is going on up there.

The combination of these three elements in an harmonic way, makes the image complete and near to perfection.

#UrbanJungleBloggers aka UJB

I discovered something yesterday. The most amusing way to integrate the plants into your my life.

I love my green friends, my most favorite plant at home is the orchid Mr. P got me. But unfortunately some of these plants have a short life . Urban Jungle Bloggers community is a fun (green) blogger’s community who introduced a unique way to deal with our plants.

How does it work? Each month UJB will release a theme and a flexible deadline to those who are subscribed to their newsletter. This months theme was Coffee & plants for example. Each person that feels inspired by the theme (it is not  an obligation obviously, it has to stay fun) posts a picture on his or her Instagram/facebook/twitter with  #urbanjunglebloggers tag or makes a blogpost about it. UJB will then choose some of those pictures and feature them on their website/facebook and Pinterest. The main goal of UJB is make a community and bring more Green into our daily and virtual lives. A wonderful initiative.

I found out about UJB just yesterday. I couldn’t wait to make my first picture. Since I didn’t have any plants near me then, I decided to Draw a few.

Meet my imaginary green friends :).

MIX-UP #2 : Nicolas Vahé – Ikea/ Kitchen Details

What Happens in the kitchen, definitely does not stay in the kitchen.

Kitchen is one of the most important area’s in the house. sometimes I can spend hours in there. So it is very important to me to have a inviting kitchen with well placed elements in there. I don’t want to stare at a white wall while I am cooking. I need to see beauty (besides the food of course 🙂 ) all around me to stay motivated.

So here are some pictures of my kitchen counter. As always, it is a mix up of traditional elements , some design elements and Ikea products.

I will put the products descriptions at the end of this post.

Let me know what you think in the comments.

Origami is Hot – Snowpuppe & Strozyk

Origami , One of the most ancient forms of 3D art. Origami is a part of the daily lif of a lot of Asian countries but we lost this beautiful form of art out of sight for a little while.

BUT, it made its way back! Origami is very hot in the design word at this moment. What was sometimes considered as kitsch is now the new GEO.

I have prepared two of my favorite origami works of all time. these elements are all handmade which make them all unique.

First one is Studio SnowPuppe, a Dutch design Studio specialized in making amazing lamp shades, handmade, in paper, in all sizes and colors! Pretty impressive.

These shades can be placed anywhere ! As a cute finishing touch in the nursery or a fun eye catcher in the office, you name it!

The Second one are the Art/Carpet/shade works of Elisa Strozyk, a German textile designer.

These amazing wooden Origami work is a 3D piece of art or a home element or both! The fact that her designs are so mudular makes them very interesting!

These products are hand made, piece by piece. That is already a fact that makes each element unique, besides that, the manner of how you choose to fold them, adds an other dimension of uniqueness to them.

I love it.

Planning to move? Portable home for 21,900 €

This 9×3  house that includes a bedroom, a combined kitchen/ living room and a bathroom, asks a manufacturing period of 4 to 6 weeks and just one day to assemble. Casa transportable APH80 by Abaton. The dimensions are chosen such a way, to provide a comfortable space for two people and also to be able to transport the house on the back of a truck.

You might ask , why spending money on this house for which you need a truck to move it around , when you can buy a classic mobile home/vehicle?

Well if you ask me, the difference between these two is, that you actually can feel home on a particular spot with this micro architectural element , while in a mobile home you might still feel the temporality of your stay? Or for a longer stay? Or maybe for someone who moves a lot due to a  certain career? But then of course, I never lived in a mobile-home, this is just a subjective, inexperienced opinion of me.

Price : from 21.900 €

This little house intrigued me and I wanted to share it with you, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

MIX-UP #1 – DIY – IKEAHACK – VITRA

A good looking interior doesn’t need to be expensive all the way. The art is to find a way to mix different elements up. For my living room I used a lot of IKEA furniture but I mixed it up with my all time favorite, the iconic Eames Rocker chair and a DIY low table.

The great part of a DIY project in your home, is that each piece is unique. Even if you got the idea from pinterest or somewhere else, the fact that it is made by your hands, makes every item exclusive!

I will try to post more of this mix-up interiors to give you some inspiration in how to combine iconic elements with more affordable furniture.

I would love to know what you guys think about my living room, and how yours looks like.

Trust me, I am an Interior Architect

Interior Architecture is a vague term in some people’s ears and this is because of the fact that it is a very wide subject matter.

Interior Architecture is NOT interior design NOR architecture but a FUSION of these two fields. As an Interior Architect we have the responsibility to create spaces. A space where the user is able to reflect him self. A functional and fair space where our movement and functions will depend on.

Let there be Light

A big part of the interior architecture depends on the lighting. After a research that I did during my bachelor period in the academy, I found out that we humans, we seek light. Light brings us security. As an interior architects, we are always trying to use the natural lighting as the main source of light in a space. This can be difficult in some cases of course and that is when we switch to interior design.

As an interior architect our task does not stop at creating a space, we also have to make it functional for a specific use. That is when we make use of our knowledge inside the field of Interior Design which means choosing the elements that “fill” the space. These elements can be functional in order to be placed wisely.IBSR9

Space Planning

Space planning is an other important branch within the field of Interior architecture. It goes in two levels. we can say that it has a macro and a micro level.

The macro level is when we work on our plans and decide how we are going to divide our surface on an architectural level.

The macro level is when we start to place the lose elements, like the additional lighting and the furniture etc, into our macro space planning.

I can go on and on about what Interior Architecture is and what we do, but What I can illustrate in one sentence is what we are not.

What we hate to hear as an interior architect:

“Oh I hear you are an interior architect, can you help me with my apartment? I need to choose the colors of my walls , and which chair should I buy? “

I do have the right eye to be able to help with these matters, but my problem is the global image of being an interior architect which is often wrong and it needs to change.

Interior architecture is a beautiful metier. It means creation, movement, beauty and art. There are days when we have to work until late, it sure is a stressful job, we do get tired and curse at our selves “WHY THE HELL DID I BECOME AN INTERIOR ARCHITECT?” but at the end when we see the results of our creation, we certainly are proud and we know that it was all worth it.

This is what this blog is all about. The fusion between interior design, interior architecture and architecture.

It is a space were we are most vulnerable and want to relax. The necessities are already present. All we can do is adding a few elements to make it more cosy.

1. Aesop

Mini Town – Warsaw

I don’t know if I have mentioned this before, but I work in an office in Brussels which is one of the market leaders in complete renovation and conceptual design of offices in Belgium. Designing offices may seem boring at the first sight ( that is what I thought too to be honest) but today’s demands for offices are changing. People are working longer hours, and that is why they want their workspace to have a home-like atmosphere.

So the modern offices are nothing like the boring cubicles and desks in a row as we imagine them. Every company wants something unique and a space where the employees like to arrive at in the morning.

This project is a great example of an un-boring office. It is a work of MFRMGR Frejda & Gratkowski Architekci  for Decerto (an IT company) based in Warsaw – Poland.

Their main goal was to step out the boring cubicle divisions and introduce a home-like office which increases the productivity of the employees. That’s when they decided to create a Mini Town…The cubicles are miniatures of flat roofed houses.

“Plywood-framed windows cut through the walls are designed to create less claustrophobic working conditions for the inhabitants, but also to allow communication with passers-by.” Dezeen

The staff actually started to put personal belongings on the plywood window frames which was totally unintended but very welcome. This completed the whole purpose of giving the office, a home-like atmosphere.

A sparkly Weekend

Last weekend was magical.

On Friday, I helped a friend with gift wrapping. I love that! He couldn’t find his scissors which meant wrapping without using scissors… Challenge accepted! 🙂

Saturday morning, we were invited to the annual Breakfast at Tiffany’s event. That is and stays magical. Every time I enter the Tiffany’s and Co store, I feel like a little girl in the candy shop. I guess it is true what they say… maybe diamond are a girl’s best friend…

After that, I finally set up our Christmas tree. It is not a big one because of the fact that the apartment is not huge neither. I would rather keep it small and simple but enough sparkly.

Only thing that is missing … The presents!

How was your weekend ?

If you have any idea’s for cool presents, let me know in the comments.

2 Inspirational Scandinavian Homes

Why I love Scandinavian design? Because those interior just feel like  a fresh breeze through the daily life.I love the lightness of the space despite all those little objects and accessories. Everything is perfectly balanced. The use of the color white doesn’t cool down the atmosphere because of the presence of the neutral and warm colors in the accessories.

These two modern Scandinavian homes are currently featured on Stadshem Real state website. I would move to north just to live in one of these homes … Just love them.

What do you think? Planning to move?

Must Visit Concept stores – Brussels

Lately, I watched a stand up comedy show. Alex Agnew is the guy’s name. I am not a big fan of Flemish stand up comedy, I prefer the classic ones like Eddy Murphy shows. But this show’s subject was really interesting to me. It was about the fact that nowadays, we all want to have, do or even be something/someone special, out of ordinary…

I agree, I always try to create my own beauty by combining objects or by creating them myself. We can see this upcoming trend everywhere in the society. In our food, fashion , stores…

It is about that last one that I want to write today. Concept Stores.

I am always looking for fun shops to visit because I will always be surprised in those kind of stores. They often have products and brands that I  don’t know about. That is a great way to find out about the latest trends. An other reason why I love concept stores is the fact that in a small country like Belgium, it is hard to find all of these Scandinavian stores that I LOVE, but some concept store offer a variety of those brands. they obviously don’t have all the products but it is better to have access to a few of them then nothing, isn’t it? :)!

I will post some pictures from my favorite concept stores that I visited during the passed weekend. They are all situated in Brussels.

DSCN4698

I took some pictures from blender 01 and hunting and collecting shops but I couldn’t take any in hei shop & tea but I will gladly show you what I have purchased in hei shop.

hei shop & tea is a small store situated at chaussée de Charleroi in Brussels. I really love the light but warm atmosphere of this shop. The products available are mostly (if not all of them) Scandinavian brands like The house Doctor, Bloomingville, Snug, Scandinavisk etc. The young owners were very friendly and ready to help which makes any store instantly more appealing to spend your money in 🙂 !

A fun extra fact : they also have a small kitchenette were they have a variety of delicious cookies. Definitely worth to visit!

My favorite brands available at the moment – Bloomingville, Snug, The House doctor, Scandinavisk

I finally found my all time favorite RO Candle buy Skandinavisk and … I didn’t hesitated to put it on the counter !

Besides that I also bought these two cute marble geometric candle holders by Bloomingville.

This store is situated in the center of Brussels  at rue des Chartreux.

My favorite brands available at the moment – L:A Bruket , fifty eight products, Eric Therner

I also bought a small but AMAZING present for my sister from this shop but I cannot post any pictures yet :).

My Kitchen

The Kitchen… The room where we create in. The kitchen is the atelier of life… We prepare our meals in there, which gives us energy. I love cooking ! It relaxes me.

It is true that sometimes I am so tired after work that I just want to dial the Domino’s number and order something and eat it on the couch. But there are other days too. Sometimes when I have had a rough day, cooking takes my mind of stuff, and I have time to think about the good things, plan my next step on TwistedVi13 for example…

I tried to make my kitchen a fun space, a place that guests can spend time in it when I am busy cooking for them for example. I know… maybe its going to sound silly, but nobody can resist a blackboard and not write or sketch something on it. It is and stays a nostalgic element.

A blackboard is handy too, I write my plans for the week on it, or small messages too Mr. P, or my shopping list … Even though it has a  black color, it warms the space up with the nostalgic look of it. I don’t care if other magazines say that a blackboard is passé, I keep loving it in my kitchen.

What I also love is my miniature garden… or better said…plant :/. I love to use fresh spices like mint or thyme. Beside the better taste in our meals, it brings a touch of green in the kitchen as well. And if you choose mint … mmm the scent of fresh mint when you enter the kitchen, just lovely…

I want to share a few snapshots of my kitchen with you guys and know your opinion about it.

This cute turquoise tray is from the Scandinavian brand AVEVA. You NEED to check them out -> Aveva Website.

Aveva has the ability to give simple everyday elements, a fun upgrade with great colors. It is a great way to bring color into your kitchen.

They also have other fun products like woolmats and garlands. Aveva found its way to combine function, sustainability and color and I LOVE IT.

Christmas at IKEA

Christmas is on its way… and everybody is in the holiday moods. The last two years, we used the same decoration for our Christmas tree…. but this year we won’t. With a new home and new life, comes a new Christmas Decoration. The colors that I chose for this year are Gold and white. We have mostly natural and pastel colors in our living room… a little bit of sparkle for the holidays doesn’t hurt :)!

I made my shopping list at Ikea’s. I will post the list with the prices (In Belgium) as well. The decoration design are very minimal and cute at the same time and also very affordable.

My all time favorites are the little owls!

Fun fact: Owls bring good luck 😉

All the items are from Ikea except the numbered objects.

How will your decoration be?

Vintage + Retro = This is how to do it right

This small apartment is located in Ghent City in Belgium. This interior just brings a smile on my lips. So fresh, young and colorful. The specific combinations of vintage objects may seem random at the first sight, but there is a lot of thinking and and a pair of good eyes for details behind all of this.

This interior shows us that a color explosion ins an interior is possible. the use of lighter and pastel colors in combination with the white walls and a great amount of natural lighting, keeps everything balanced and fresh looking.

The Rococo looking wallpaper is the finishing touch . It insures that all the pieces fall into their places just perfectly.ghent1 (11)

10 Organizing Ideas for Students

I recently graduated from an art school and I know how many stuff a student can gather, specially when you are studying art. All the brushes, pencils, papers, etc…

Here are a few idea s to get your home office organized.

Untitled-1

I love the look of Ikea Kvissle collection.  The combination of the minimal white with the natural color of cork makes this items clean but cosy at the same time.

IMG_3194

Some glass jars and glue or double sided tape, can help to create an extra storage space. The nice part of this, is the fact that the jars have their fixed spots and  you can continue cooking on a clean counter top in the kitchen. This can also be used in the office space for storing smaller accessories like paper clips etc.

IMG_8773_thumb2This combination on Nordic string, of the Tomado String in white with some copper accessories in a smart solution for storing books and other accessories that are frequently used. The fact that these shelves float above the table or floor, gives us the illusion that the space does not reduce in size, which makes this element perfect for smaller rooms.

Home-Organizing-DIY-Projects-From-ShopSmart

Just as simple as clipping a few boxes together and give the a layer of painting, creates a big and affordable organizing possibility.

8officeStudents mostly have a lot of pieces of loose paper, post its, mind keys, pictures, inspirational posts etc. A fine rope and a few clothing clips can help to give a right place to all of those lose paper pieces that you want to keep in sight. Clever Type

dezeen_Office-for-Emu-Films-by-Studio-Swine_10This Office for Emu Films by Studio Swing, has created a lot of vertical storage space by using pegboards. I love the flexibly of this idea. The graphic visual makes this kind of storing very interesting. Be careful, the catchy part of using pugboards is, that it doesn’t have to get too loaded otherwise it wont look orderly anymore.

DIY-Gold-+-Acrylic-Clipboards-4

This brilliant idea to paint the clipboards in gold (or any other color) by Design Spong , is a affordable but great idea to bring color into your office in a playful and practical way.

binder-clip_cord-storage-062010-6

Having a clean work desk, can help to increase concentration. I can imaging to have a phone charger , usb wire, pc charger, camera charger, maybe internet cable … All of this cables hanging around your desk, can become really annoying. This simple use of clipping boards may be a solution to this problem.

TinCanDeskOrganizer6_zps1bad64a6

Recycling is the next hot thing. Next time you buy a can of beans, remember that you are buying your pen storage with it.

pegboardI can’t get enough of how useful pegboards and clothing pins are. You can personalize the clothing pins with colorful tapes to give them that little unique touch.

How is your office organized?
